a multi-disciplinary database providing

peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to

over 100 journals, and searchable
cited references are provided for more
than 1,000 titles.

a multi-disciplinary database
providing

general interest periodicals/magazines dating
as far back as 1975. Also contains

a complete one-stop resource for information
on social issues. Access controversial

CQ
Researcher is
a weekly online publication that covers current
and controversial issues. Complete
summaries, discussion covering all
sides of the issue, and annotated bibliographies
are provided for each topic. Users

able to view the current issue, search
past issues, or browse by topic, pro/con,
and date.

Newspaper
Source Plus includes
more than 860 full-text newspapers (including
the New York Times), providing more than
35 million full-text articles. In addition,
the
database features more than 857,000

LexisNexis
Academic "Newspapers" (On-campus
only) contains full-text
articles from local and major U.S. and
international newspapers including the Washington
Post, The
New York Times,
the San Francisco Chronicle,
and the
Los Angeles Times.
Tip: To limit a search
to only U.S. newspapers, check the box under "Select
Sources" on the main search

Art Online is
a gateway offering users the ability
to access and cross-search four major
art reference resources in one location: Grove
Art Online, Oxford
Companion to Western Art, The
Concise Dictionary of Art Terms,
and Oxford’s Encyclopedia
of Aesthetics. The combined
content includes over 23,000 subject
entries, 21,000 biographies, and links
to more than 40,000 images on every
aspect of the visual arts from prehistory
to present. World art timelines and

Music Online is
a gateway offering users the ability

Entertainment
provides information on about 450,000
music titles and 200,000

regularly. With BIR, your patrons can

in Print provides
access to approximately 2 million titles
that are in print, forthcoming, or
declared out-of-print. Records are
searchable by author, title, subject,
publisher, ISBN, and keywords, as well
as other criteria. The database also
includes publisher's information and
full-text Book Reviews from

Book
Index with Reviews is
a comprehensive database providing
information on over 5 million book
titles, in a wide range of formats.
The database contains almost 800,000
full-text searchable book reviews from
sources such as Library Journal, School
Library Journal, Publishers Weekly,
Booklist and others. BIR also contains
close to 700,000 music, DVD, and video
titles, making it a great resource
for finding multimedia materials. |

EBSCOhost
eBooks provides
access to approximately 2,300 eBook titles
purchased through the California Community
College Library Consortium.
The titles were hand-selected to support
a wide range of subjects and are searchable
in the library catalog or directly
through the EBSCOhost database. In
addition to the purchased titles, the
database also provides access to over
3,400 public domain eBooks from sources
such as Project Gutenberg (ex.,
Works of Shakespeare, Canterbury Tales,
The Bible...).
Note:
Viewing individual eBook titles is
limited to one person at a time and
thus may not always be accessible.
Once a title is returned, there is
a 15 minute release period before it
can be accessed by the same or another
user. |

Development Collection is
designed for professional educators,
providing a highly specialized
collection of nearly 520 high quality

journals, including more than 350 peer-reviewed
titles. This database also contains

MAS
Ultra - School Edition is
designed specifically for high
school libraries but it may be useful for
college students taking education classes
focusing on secondary grade levels.
The database contains full-text for
nearly 500 popular magazines geared
toward high school students. Also included
are more than 360 full-text reference
books, 85,670 biographies, over 107,000
primary source documents. |

Primary
Search is
designed specifically for elementary
school students but may be useful
for college students taking education
classes focusing on elementary grade
levels. The database provides full-text
for more than 70 popular magazines
suitable for elementary school students.
All full-text articles are assigned
a reading level indicator (Lexiles)
and date back as far as 1990. |

Britannica
Online-Academic contains
the complete encyclopedia as well as
the Merriam-Webster's Collegiate
Dictionary and Thesaurus.
Content is updated daily and includes
topical entries, maps, photos, illustrations,

useful features are “Research

CQ
Weekly online
provides information on government,
politics, and public policy surrounding
Congress. Each issue contains an unbiased,
objective summary of all Capitol Hill
activity from the previous week. Useful
search features include browsing by
topic and article date. |

CountryWatch is
comprised of four databases: (1) Country
Reviews: provides 50-100 page reports
on 191 countries covering historic, political,
economic, and contemporary issues; (2) Country
Wire: provides country-specific daily
news on each country; (3) Country Data:
allows cross-sectional data searching by country,
time period, and data series; and (4) Country
Business: includes information and regulations
on investment and trade from the U.S. Department
